Welcoming Biggs Catering to the M&P Family

We are excited to announce the acquisition of Biggs Catering Company in Bantry, a move that strengthens our presence in West Cork and marks an important step in our growth strategy as we prepare to celebrate 120 years of excellence.

A New Chapter in Our Legacy

As part of our ongoing expansion efforts, the acquisition of Biggs Catering Company represents a significant milestone in our long-term growth plans. This deal combines our fourth-generation family business with one of West Cork’s oldest and most trusted catering companies. It’s a key part of our vision to broaden our product portfolio and enhance our service offerings to customers across Ireland. Our brand family includes trusted names such as Irish Homestead, White Hat, Red Abbey, and Brennan’s Caterworld. Additionally, we operate the Gala retail and Your Stop franchises and now own two of our own Gala stores, with plans for further acquisitions. With the addition of Biggs Catering, we are proud to further enhance our portfolio of wholesale catering supplies.

Boosting Sales and Expanding Our Reach

This acquisition is a key component of our broader strategy to achieve a 15% increase in sales, driving our turnover beyond €54 million by 2025. Our long-term goal remains to reach €75 million by 2028. This strategic investment will significantly contribute to our ongoing growth and solidify our standing in the wholesale and foodservice sectors. Over the past few years, our turnover has grown from €22 million in 2017 to €47 million in 2024, reflecting the strength of our market position.

    Supporting Biggs Catering’s Continued Success

Biggs Catering Company has long been known for its high-quality products and exceptional service in the West Cork region. Under our ownership, Biggs will continue to operate under its trusted name, while benefiting from our extensive resources and infrastructure. With access to our state-of-the-art warehouse, fleet of delivery vehicles, and an expansive range of over 15,000 products, Biggs is positioned to expand its offerings and continue meeting the evolving needs of its customers. As part of the acquisition, we will also invest in Biggs’ delivery routes and distribution infrastructure, improving service levels across West Cork. Importantly, all Biggs employees will retain their jobs, ensuring continuity and stability for both the team and our valued customers.
